DESCRIPTION: A twig-like caterpillar that is greyish-brown throughout with russet markings alongside the lower half of each flank. The eyes are light grey and mottled with reddish-brown. FOODPLANT: Various Oaks, Downy and Silver Birch as well as Sallows and Beech. SEASON: June to September. |
